Of course each and every website needs that all illusive commodity, traffic. Some traditional ways of creating traffic are blogging, posting to forums, classified advertising, article writing, and even PPC (Pay-Per-Click).

new article marketing tactics in 2013. There was a time when you could
submit your article to the directories and gain back-links from them
without much of a problem. However, I recently wrote a
few articles and had planned to post the same article to a few of the
article directories in hope of gaining a few back-links. This is
something I did routinely before the start of Panda and Penguin. However,
to my dismay, every directory that I went to that was considered a top
ranking article directory prompted me before submitting my article that I
could not submit the article if it had been posted elsewhere. Now, that
really created a dilemma for me because I had posted all of my articles
to E-zine Articles before attempting to post anywhere else. Additionally,
some of the article directories that were previously considered
legitimate have been hit by Google and are now considered to be no more
than 'link farms.' These are what you would refer to as 'spam
directories.' Therefore, you will no longer get link juice from them.
So, it's pretty important to know which article directories are a safe
bet now. There are some new requirements for your
articles. Since you can't post duplicate content that would mean that it
is nearly a must to spin your articles. It is now a requirement that
you change the title of your article, the body, and your resource box in
order for Google to give you a link back to the directories that are
legitimate. I had been reading about this, but I wasn't
completely sure about it until I attempted to publish my articles on
the various article directories. So, if you cannot submit duplicate
content anymore, this is obviously the only way you will be able to
submit your articles for back-links. You almost have no choice other
than to spin them. I have recently tried a few
spinners...as all spinners are not equal in complexity, nor price. You
will also have to learn the spinner syntax and spend even more time
creating your article because once you have written it you will have to
go back and put in the syntax to spin it. The entire process is rather
lengthy so you want to make sure that you have a spinner that is easy
for you to work with. It appears that the best thing
that you can do is to learn to spin your articles so that you can take
one really good article and make multiple articles out of it. Of course,
you will still have to change your title and your resource box, but
this way you will be able to submit to the article directories and gain
those valuable back-links. Before submitting your
article check out the article directory. Not all of the article
directories are 'do follow.' Meaning that you will receive a link
back. You can still submit to the 'no follow' directories in order to
gain traffic and exposure.
However, do not expect to receive any
back-links from them. With the new algorithm you will want to have both
'do follow' and 'no follow' links so that it will appear that you are
building your back-links naturally. Some of the better
article directories are now charging a fee. And, of course there are
many article distribution services available that will submit your
article to hundreds of article directories for you for a fee.
And, with
the new algorithm, Google has lowered the page rank for some of the
article directories that used to be a sure bet. So, you will have to
check to make sure that your articles are being distributed to
directories that will not harm your back-linking program. So,
we have to almost watch everything that we are doing online with the
new Panda and Penguin update. It appears that everyone of my articles is
about Panda and Penguin, but this algorithm encompasses so much that
almost everything that I do online is being affected by it. Go figure! One
of the Google updates is directly related to content and back-linking
so you have to consider that if you were to submit an article to many
different article directories and they all have the exact same anchor
text back-links with your keywords, you would be penalized for that due
to the Google Penguin update.
That is why you have to make sure that you
change your resource box that would include your anchor text which
links to your website. So, obviously, we have to be concerned with a few
more details when article marketing. Further, we don't
want to be penalized for keyword stuffing. That means that we are going
to have to change our main keyword up a bit. Instead of using the same
keyword over and over again, use a synonym. When
submitting your article make sure that you are submitting to the
relevant category as well or else Google will penalize you for that too.
You don't want your back-links coming in from completelyunrelated
markets either, or there will be another penalty. Relevancy will
play a major role in your rankings as well. Good luck and happy article

But if you have them in place they can

properly optimized. It is not only necessary that you know what the four
meta-tags are, but you should also be aware of the type of content that
should be on your site.
You will want to make sure that the
articles on your website are written clearly without a lot of the same
keywords scattered throughout the article. Instead of using the same
ones, sprinkle some of your long tail keywords throughout and make sure
that your reader can clearly understand the idea you are conveying. Your
content has to be more conversational.
I recommend that you
create a great back-linking program. One that creates your back-links
naturally over a period of time. You don't want to create 40,000
back-links at once because Google will be looking for you to create
another 40,000 the next time and over a reasonable period of time. Plus,
that does not look like you created them naturally.
Go about
building a good back-linking strategy that will be amenable to Google
standards. You will need to be aware of when to get back-links, and what
the best back-linking programs are, and which ones will do your website
harm.
And, if you are up on the latest trends, you will be
tweaking your site to make sure that it is not over optimized. This is
one of the mistakes that you can be penalized for by Google as well.
Certainly,
be mindful of the many online strategies that you will need to place
into your marketing plan so that you will have an outstanding marketing
mix. You want an outstanding strategy. You don't want to be just
standard. To make online cash you will want to use strategies that most
online marketers are not using.

With the advent of the new Panda and Penguin algorithm, Google has initiated and implemented new strategies that you will need to be aware of and of which you will need to incorporate into your marketing strategy in order to compete and have your website appear on Google search.
The biggest problem appears to be that no one is absolutely sure of what the new requirements are or of what the new algorithms cover. Of course, there have been SEO (Search Engine Optimization) guys that claim to know what the new algorithms consist of, but it appears
that no one is absolutely certain as to what will be required to rank on Google because there are many factors that will affect rankings.
There was so much hoopla when the algorithm was changed that it prompted me to begin research on the topic and I began to study whatever I could find out about how to rank on Google using their new algorithm.
I am sure you have heard that there were many businesses that were completely annihilated when these changes took effect. So, it would behoove anyone who wants a presence on Google to listen up, pay attention and do whatever it takes to rank if you are planning to sell your products or services online; as this is where income is greatly affected.
I am no authority on the new algorithm, however, during my research on the topic I came across some information that I immediately incorporated into my marketing mix. Thankfully, and somewhat to my surprise, after about 30 days it is working well although I am still learning to navigate the site.
The program that I added to my marketing mix is Google +. My intention was to try it to see what benefit I would derive from using this social media site. I have found that it works great and that I have ranked on the first page of Google for 20 different keywords.
The Google + site already has 100 million users and is growing rapidly. So, start using Google + right away as it stands to reason that Google will reward you for using their social media site!
You can have more than one Google + page. Regardless of how many Google + pages you create, make sure to have their programmer link the pages to your website.
Their programmer will do this for you free of charge. When setting up your page you will get a pop- up asking if you want their programmer to link your pages so make sure to do so.
Additionally, when completing your profile make sure that in the introduction area you leave a link to your website, blog, an article or link to some of your contributions. Whatever link you place there will show up as a blue hyperlink.
After completing the introduction navigate to the bottom of the page where there is a section for other profiles. You can leave links to your FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest pages and more.
No matter what you do online as far as content, Google is now going to rate you by authorship or give you a social reputation rating. So, you cannot just throw crappy content up on a bunch of sites and rank on the first pages of Google.
Your content or authorship will now be rated and this happens to bode well for anyone who is self-publishing on the Amazon kindle platform.
Keep in mind that when writing content of any type, Google will no longer accept articles that are stuffed with keywords where the article or website makes little to no sense because it is plagued with keyword phrases.
You will now be required to write your content as if you are speaking to your reader in plain English in words and phrases that make sense. If you use the concept of KISS (keep it simple stupid), you will be fine!
Google wants to be able to recognize who you are so you will want to go to Gravatars.com and put your picture there. Make sure to use this picture everywhere and on all of your social media sites including forums, message boards and the like, so that Google will be able to easily recognize you.
One of the best features on Google + is that you will be able to post images, articles, blog posts, videos and more. You will also be able to link to your websites and blogs and social media sites which will be included in search.
You will be able to place a link on your Google + page to your website or product which remains there and will serve as a great ad for your business. You can do this in your profile introduction as well as in a post.
If you have a WordPress blog you can put a Google + button on your site and use it as an autoresponder. This way your message will automatically go to everyone in your circles.
If you have a laptop you can also start a 'hang out' which is like Skype and it will allow you to communicate with friends and family. You will also be able to communicate with others in different countries who speak different languages because Google + provides a translator.
And, there is a new rating system much like Facebook 'likes.' These will be +1's on Google + and will be a part of Google's ratings on you and your social content.
Google will also rate you on where you place your articles. You will not be penalized for using article directories if you use highly rated article directories like Ezine Articles, and if you get your link juice from sites like Hub Pages, and Squidoo.
Just make sure you are not using article directories that can be considered link farms. Be selective as to where you place your content.
From what I have seen so far, Google + is the latest and greatest social media marketing platform. If you want to be listed on the first page of Google for your product or service use this social media platform.
Of course, it will require some trial and error on your part before you get it down to a science, but I can attest to the fact that it works! There are also quite a few free tools available to you on this site including text messaging and mobile.
Make sure that you use this platform extensively in 2013 as Google is a major player and influences the way the web operates and changes in a big way. And they determine whether or not you show up on their search results. I would say this is pretty much a no brainer!
